Go to this restaurant 4-5 times a year, ever since they remodeled their one room, it is literally 90 degress and terribly uncomfortable. Not a good sign when every table being served is waiving their menu as fans. Very disappointed in employee responses, "it's summer what do you expect". Bushleague performance for the prices they charge.
User Rating: 5 out of 5 starsGood food: I used to frequent a Japanese restaurant alot in a city I used to live in and was greatful to find Ohana's here in Des Moines. Ohana's food and entertainment isn't as great as the other Japanese restaurants I've been to, but I still like the food. Me and my family have had a couple of cooks that may have went a little too far with teasing and one was rude. Otherwise we've had pleasant trips. I recommend getting the royal combo. It's a better buy and you get two entrees of your choice out of steak, chicken, and shrimp.
On a side note: find a bathroom quickly after you leave.-

The BEST: Absolutely fantastic food! The scallops with the lemon sauce is to die for. So much food that you are stuffed by the end. The chefs are extremely funny and make the entire experience worth while.
