I bought a 2003 suburban from these folks and I was stupid enough to believe that they would not sell me a piece of S___. I have had NOTHING but trouble with the thing and they just say I bought it as is and as is is a horrible dissappointment. My dad bought a
car there in 1959 when it was Kerr-Cochran and I thought that it was great that I got a car where he did, but that was short lived. If you are from out of town, they don't care. You bought it; you own it. I wish I had my old Burb back.At least I didn't have to make payments AND pay HUGE repair bills.
My first car.: I bought my first car there back in 1959. A very nice young man named William Cornick sold it to me. He told me the car was owned by a little old lady who only drove it to the Elks Club. He also said nobody was ever quite sure who drove it home from the Elks Club. When I asked about warranty he explained it was warranted right up to when I drove it off the lot.
I wonder what ever became of him? Some say he bought a bike and rode off and was never seen again. Others say he was mowing his yard and just kept going like Forrest Gump.
Of course cars were a bit cheaper back then. I still laugh when I recall him saying "look at all this quality for only $1250". I bet he hasn't said that in 30 years.
I can still see him standing at the show room window watching the cars go by. He would just smile and say "where are they all going, doesn't anyone work anymore"?
I remember the time I had some car trouble and called him at home. I hated to bother him and I felt even worse after the nice man who answered the phone said I had just missed Mr. Cornick as he had moved to Siberia earlier in the day.
But I knew he would like it there because he just loved snow.
I can still hear him say "no two flakes look alike". And his show room windows were always so clean. He would stand and smile at the children who would smudge them while their parents kicked tires in the lot. You could tell he just loved children and loved to wash windows.
It just seemed like yesterday that he told me about some of the brother in law deals he gave family members. He always said "if you can't make money off your family then who can you make money off of"? He always had such nice things to say about family. He said his brother in law could do things with Venician Blinds that would bring tears to your eyes.
I just wonder what ever became of Mr. Cornick and if he ever made it in the car business. He might have become a dentist because most people would rather have teeth pulled than deal with used car salesmen. He could have been president of the United States because he was Slick Willy long before we ever heard of the other one.
Sincerely,
Flossie Fossilbaum
