Yes, it is better than Starbucks if for no other reason than the fact that Cup of Joe is locally owned and opperated. There is better coffee in NE Iowa, but if you like an artsy retro style, you will not find a better atmosphere. If you go enough, they will know your name, your drink of choice, and how many parking tickets you've recieved by the dumpsters in back:)
User Rating: 5 out of 5 starsBeats Starbucks!!!: Best kept secret in Cedar Falls!! Great home baked goods, different seasonal specials and the staff is the best!! It's like sitting down in someone's kitchen or living room and having coffee. No cells allowed and even the younger crowd loves the ambiance there. My favorite is an Irish creme cappuccino, but I love to try the newest flavors in the lattes and iced coffees. Outside seating in warmer weather....better than that chain coffee shop hands down!!! Now and then there is live music and local art on the walls that changes often. I love it because it is within walking distance for me and the riverwalk is just across the street with plenty of scenery.
