Panther Lounge

A great alternative if you can't hit the Tap.: If you can't find time to drive north to Janesville to hit the Tap you should definitely set your sights on the Panther Lounge. I used to live a couple blocks away so it was a convenient place to go for a drink or two at night. There's a pool table and sometimes free popcorn available, a nice horseshoe bar with padded arm rest and stool seating. The building has a nice 70s style and it's small enough that it can't accomodate large crowds, which means it rarely gets too loud inside (except on nights of major sporting events or during Sturgis Falls, but those exceptions bring a spirit that few other bars can boast). The drinks are fairly priced and the atmosphere is just right. It's a place for anyone who wants to show an out-of-towner what a midwest city bar should be.
