After talking my girlfriend into trying this place (I was also trying it for the first time), I felt bad the entire night for putting my girlfriend through the horrible experience we had. The buffet is $10 and everything on the menu was $11 or more, so we both tried the buffet. First let me start with what wasn't on the buffet. There was absolutely no salad bar of any kind. There was no ice cream. You had to buy a soda for another $2, making the total $12. $12 isn't a bad price if the buffet is good, but it wasn't. Here is what they did have. There was fried rice and chow mein noodles. The fried rice tasted like pasty bland rice with a lot of soy sauce to drown out the bad tasting rice. There was basically only rice and nothing else. You can't really call it fried rice. The chow mein noodles were rubbery and had too much butter with no vegetables. For toppings on the bad rice and noodles, you had 4 choices: Mongolian beef (which was just ok), a cheap version of chashewless cashew chicken (which as a huge disappointment), seasame chicken (which tasted like cheap microwave seasame chicken dinner), and finally I can't even tell you what the fourth item was because I just didn't care at that point. We did get to try 7 pieces of shrimp that were actually ok once you peeled the hard layer off, but they didn't bring anymore out the entire time we were there. They had 2 soups too offer, we both tried the egg drop soup. It tasted burnt. I'm not sure how you burn egg drop soup, but some how they managed to do so. They had a few pieces of fruit (pineapple, appricot, and cantalope) and a few desert pieces. The egg rolls didn't have pork or any sort of meat in them.

I wouldn't have paid $5 for that meal, not to mention the lady at the register with short hair and glasses that was incredibly rude. My girlfriend didn't eat much, but she did try a decent amount just to make me happy. We had some food left on the plates, which were half the size of normal plates at a restaurant, and when the lady came to pick up the plates, she asked, "Are you all done"? We responded with a "Yes." At that point she said with a completely rude voice, "We worked hard to cook that food and you are just going to waste it?" She then started to put us down for wasting the already awful food.

Bottom line, I would have rather have had a peanut butter and jelly sandwhich than ever eat at this place again. The rude lady at the end just made the already horrible experience that much worse, as she said it loud enough so that everyone sitting around us could hear. So because we don't like your horrible food, you are going to try and make us feel bad in front of the entire 6 other people that were there? Really?

With my one star rating, there are now 2 one star and a 5 star rating. I'm guessing the 5 star came from either the owner or the mean lady in glasses so that they can harass more than six people in a night. I suppose they can keep writing good reviews to bump their score up. Good luck with that! (But you all now know the truth.)

At Least Once A Week: I eat at China Wok frequently. The food is the very best in the cedar valley. They use fresh vegetables and quality meats. Try it out and see. I highly advise the mixed vegetables with beef. Ask for it spicy.
