Healthy dining in Sioux City: Cafe Danh is a Vietnamese restaurant in Sioux City. It seems to be a family run place where the wife cooks everything, the son is the waiter, and I'm not sure what the father does... maybe he helps with the cooking. At first I was worried that they must use MSG b/c even the rice tasted wonderful, but I asked and due to a slight language barrier - asked a few times. After she had said there was no MSG in it for the 3rd time or so, she slightly raised her voice and said that she doesn't use MSG! I love the rice stick selections which come in a big bowl and have mint and veggies and combine a nice savory flavor with some crispness. I tried the noodle stir fry tonight and enjoyed it - but not as much as the rice stick selections. Our waiter recognized us the 2nd time we came back. He was very good - tho I was most annoyed with him for not bringing the bill until he finally figured out that we were waiting for it and told us that they would give us the bill at the register. This makes figuring the tip a little difficult - but everything is so cheap (~$5 or $6 per dish), that it is hard to complain. It is at the corner of Pierce and 16th Street.
It's hard to eat out when you care about eating healthy. It was my impression that they used only the ingredients that anyone could buy at a grocery store and made everything fresh.
Good service, great food, healthy, and cheap! I recommend Cafe Danh. :)

Great Vietnamese Food: Cafe Danh is the best kept secret in Sioux City. The food is great. I have enjoyed everything I have eaten there. My first time eating there, I was so impressed that I ended up ordering three entrees because I just couldn't get enough. It's all natural and probably some of the healthiest food available inthe city. The staff and I have some language differences, but they are such wonderful people that it really isn't a significant issue. I love this place.
