We were pleasantly surprised. The Jaeger Schnitzel was the best we have had since leaving Germany in 2000 and the adult beverages were great. The service was also great. If you like wine, try the wine sampler. We ended up buying two bottles of the wine. The dandelion wine was a nice sweet wine. All future trips on I-80 will include a stop in Amana, Iowa.
Finding good German cuisine in Iowa isn't easy, but the Ox Yoke has a fine selection of German brews and dishes that satisfy. They serve you family-style and the place is almost always crowded. Practically everyone you talk with will recommend it over any other place in the Amanas, whether you want breakfast, a quick lunch or a nice dinner. Sauerbraten w/sauerkraut and spaetzle is to die for. The only negative is the service. I have never had "great" service there, though most people will probably think it's fine.
