Oscar's Restaurant

I never knew about this place, however one of their waitresses was a customer of mine at the place I work. And she mentioned the restaurant. I told her I would be in town the following week and I'd show up to check out the joint.

I love greasy spoon places. The food is almost always good and the prices are almost always reasonable. Well, Oscar's is not a disappoint on either of those expectations. The food was very good. I had the Hot Beef(for obvious reasons) and my mother, who happened to be in state, had a tenderloin for the first time in six years. She lives in North Carolina now and is considering having Oscar's mail her tenderloins through the mail, which is something you should ask about.

Place was very clean and lit up well. Just has that nice little "hole in the wall"-feel. It's kinda hidden from the main drag, but it's definately worth the find. I'll make this place an automatic stop every time I go through the Cedar Rapids area now and need a quick, hot meal.

Do yourself a favor...stop in and enjoy the flavor.

Good Breakfast - Clean and Bright - Smoke Free: The title says it all. They really do have excellent beakfast. The staff is friendly when it's not terribly busy. Everything is nice and clean, and the no-smoking is a great touch. I've only gone their for breakfasts, but have always left very happy.
