get less for more money: If you want to pay more with less variety of side dishes this is the restaurant for you. Very disappointed. We have visited several of the other restaurants here and this one offers you less in the way of side dishes with your meal, charges you for non-bar drinks and dessert and the meal prices seemed to be a little higher than the others. The food was OK, mine was overcooked. Won't go back

A Family Tradition: We eat here every time we go to Iowa to see my in laws. The food is great, the portions are huge and the value is amazing. Everything is served family style and it seems like the food never stops coming. You start with salad, pickeld beets, deviled ham, cottage cheese and delicious warm rye bread. The entrees include, wienerschnitzel, fried chicken, ham, steaks and many other choices all served with country potatoes and amazing corn. The corn is almost like creamed corn but better. They serve a wheat beer that my husband and father in law love. The staff are fast and friendly. We can't wait for our next trip to the Amanas.
