Very fancy setting with a beautiful view of the lake. Service was comparable to any "chain" restaurant. Very high priced meals. I spent $31.00 for 4 pieces of shrimp and about 4 ounces of beef. Food was tasty but not worth that kind of price. I wont be going back.
Beautiful setting, and great food. I would for sure come back to this establishment.
I agree with the other reviewers that the setting is beautiful (even on an overcast, damp pre-winter day). There were some things I really enjoyed about the brunch when I dined there yesterday (the fruit plate, the pastries and the omelette made to order). I was, however, very disappointed about a few things. I am not a person who likes to gorge just so I can get my money's worth. I prefer smaller amounts of a variety of quality food, regardless of the price. The quality and variety left a lot to be desired. We were brought a tiny (about 4" across and 3/4" deep) bowl of scrambled eggs, another of what I guess I'd call a leftover cooked potato that they browned and a final tiny bowl of overcooked frozen vegetables (they had good seasoning). We were offered a choice of meats from a meat plate including bacon, sausage, a "house" sausage and ribs. The bacon and sausage were like you'd get anywhere else and the ribs were not good (we'll leave it at that). The house sausage was something my husband enjoyed. We were told by our server that they would come around if we wanted more of anything but that didn't happen. We also still don't understand if we missed a "tier" of food because our server mentioned crepes and some other mexican type dish that was available in the bar where the chef is. Bottom line is that we had enough food (I don't like to get stuffed) and thoroughly enjoyed the atmosphere. The server was absent and inattentive (I think she only had 1 other table) and the coffee and champagne people were definitely not busy enough (they stopped about every 2 minutes to ask if we wanted refills which interrupted our conversation far too often). I hope the waitstaff pools their tips because our server really deserved very little of the 25% tip we gave. I want to add that the reason I gave the fair tip was because we saw how slow it was and felt bad for the waitstaff since we know their income is primarily their tips.
I can tell you that I was happy to have gone there and want to point out that nothing was so bad that I wouldn't go again. I was just somewhat disappointed in the offerings for brunch. They were just somewhat uneventful. I have been to the Golden Mast and the Gasthaus and LOVED both places. I will definitely go back to the Seven Seas for dinner since I know of the other restaurants' reputations.
