Absolutely horrible!!!! We decided to give hong kong express a try after a couple disappointments. Wrong move apparently. We ordered the chicken fried rice with chicken and snow peas. We we got was dried up old rice with a bit of chicken splashed around for some flavor. We also ordered the chicken with broccoli, which was not much better. The rice was so dry that it absorbed the soy sauce much like the desert soaks up the first rainfall in months. Never again. The portions are nice if you like a whole HEAP of crap instead of just a little bit.... Never again

I am new to Wisconsin so my taste for Chinese food is based on what i have had in my prior state. My wife and I ordered an entree, apetizer and soup. I regret to say that is was all very poor. I was very disappointed as not even the Wonton soup was good. ( Never thought there was a bad wonton soup)

Good portions, good prices, good ingredients for the most part, they just need to ditch the 5 spice or nutmeg, which completely ruins the taste of the dish.

Having a craving for Chinese food for lunch a few weeks ago, I was happy to discover this place in Jackson. I ordered my favorites, Hot n Sour soup, and the lunch special Cashew Chicken (VERY reasonable, about $4.99 for the lunch including a spring roll, a crab rangoon and a drink). I started with the Hot n Sour soup which was by far, probably the BEST I've ever had! It was just awesome! Scathing hot (temperature-wise, not tastewise) I had to take my time eating it without burning of the entire inside of my mouth. Lots of tofu and mushrooms, excellent taste. I opened the container of my "lunch special" and chose my egg roll next which was pretty good (for those of you who don't know the "secret" you should make your own dipping sauce of mixing the hot mustard and soy sauce). Then, it was on to the crab rangoon, which I hated. Yucky! It was not the normal cream cheese filling and had lots of onions (which I absolutely despise), more like they took cole slaw, mixed it with some chopped shrimp and skipped the cream cheese altogether. The portion of the actual entree surprised me as it was VERY generous with good ingredients, not just the usual fillers of bok choy and bean sprouts. It was okay, except everything was doused (I could even see the spice visibly) with something like nutmeg (I distinctly believe it was nutmeg, but gave the benefit of Chinese 5-spice, which includes nutmeg) which totally ruined the flavor to a GREAT extent. I figured, "No biggie. I'll just order it the next time without those ingredients and it will be perfect." So, I anxiously ordered again, looking forward to the meal minus the funky spice, and was told simply, "We don't use those spices" to which I hung up the phone. I've afterwards had co-workers raise their eyebrows at me for even ordering from the place saying, "You ordered from there?!" which leads me to believe the spicing of the dishes might not be the only problem.
