New Horizions used to be a very dingey, seedy environment. Not any more! The new owner Jay has done a great job remodeling the bar/resteraunt and menu! I live right aroun the block from the place. In the first four years I lived near Horizions I maybe went in there 5 times. But now it's moving up on my list of favorite places to go. The fish fry is awsome! My wife and I always get broiled. At most places this ends up being dried out. But at Horizions the broiled fish Is consistently moist and cooked perfect! The portions are very generous an the prices are very reasonable. The homemade Pizza is also very good! If you like a good thin crust pizza, look no further. I had the works.tOt was really good. The Sausage hade alot of flavour and just the right amount of spice. I hope people start catching on to the fact New Horizions is not a dump anymore ! This place deserves to do well. The food is great and the service is also very good! Two combinations that are seem more and more rare these days. Well , writing this review has just made me hungry. I geuss I know where I'm going for dinner tonight.
Food, selection, service & prices were all really good. American food, casual atmosphere. Lots of choices in appetizers, sandwiches, burgers, pizza, dinners, & daily specials, including a Friday fish fry.
Prices for sandwichs range from $5.95 - $9.95. Dinners from $7.95 - to the mid-teens. Children's menu available.
My first visit was during the lunch hour. I had a prime rib sandwich and my friend had the Reuben. They were both delicious. The size of the sandwich and amount of fries was plentiful - we certainly did not leave hungry.
My second visit I ordered the Italian Beef Supreme. It was wonderful, and the portion size was generous. This visit was in mid-afternoon.
On both occasions the 2 different waitresses wre friendly, and gave good service. The food was served hot. Also on both visits the owner (Jay) came to the table to see how I liked the food & if everything was ok. He too was very nice & I had the feeling that if I had a complaint he would take care of the matter in a way that would satisfy the customer. No complaints from me !
There is a bar in an attached room, but the cafe area was not noisy or smokey from the bar. I would go there again & I would order the prime rib sandwich & Italian Beef again. Great food at great prices = a great deal !
This is your typical "Cheers" like atmosphere. The owners are 21st century Sam. In this economy now, it is nice that there is a place that we can go for a good meal and a drink and feel like we never left home. Jay and Lisa Adams are the most delightful couple to make us feel like we were family. Their pairings of sandwiches and beer are spot on. Thank you again for the delightful visit. It would be a shame if a place like this would fall to the economy.
