We went to this restaurant for our anniversary dinner and I have to say I expected more. We had made a trip to Kirschs earlier and the summer and were etremely pleased with our experience. The servers were great and very knowledgeable and we were even personally served our dessert by the pastry chef herself. This time around however lacked slightly. While our server was excellent and had knowledge of both the food and wine I have to say that the quality of the food left us wanting. It took a long time for our appetizers to be served and even longer for our entrees that followed. While the timing was off the food had great flavor but was like many other restaurants before. We shared a dessert and it was nothing at all like what we had recieved over the summer. It looked haphazardly done and lacked flavor. Overall it was disappointing and nothing like our first experience. We arent sure what happened but the dining experience slid downhill from our first trip there.

My Favorite Restaurant in Wisconsin: Kirsh's is far best the hidden secret in Lake Geneva. It is a great restaurant that serves 5 star dishes. The meals are beautiful and flavorful. It's not good old french country food that your momma used to make...it's good old french country food that your mom who took lessons from Julia Childs would make. It is something you have to try to believe. The have a chef, not a cook. The waiters know their menu and their wines. If you know the difference between good food and great food, you will know what I mean. It is a bit pricey, but well worth every cent. There are not too many restaurants like this in Wisconsin so do seek it out. You will end of savouring the meal as well as the experience.
