Agree with everyone on here that this place is awesome. My husband and I go all the time. Some of the staff even know us by name!
A few corrections from the other posts.
This place is easy to find. It's on the corner on VanBuren & Brady (major intersection) and it's bright turquoise. It's actually pretty hard to miss!!
There are several types of shows, but none of which you should bring the kids too. Lets not forget that this place is a BAR!! If you wouldn't take Tommy to to McGillicuddy's don't bring him here.
They have tables that accomodate parties of two, three, four and six. For larger groups they seat groups next to each other at tables. If you don't want to be stuck at a table with strangers, make a reservation and show up early. The straglers that walk in at showtime get put in the back as not to disrupt the show.
And finally, 9.9 times out of ten you will have no idea who the comics are by name. Unless they say Bill Cosby or Steve Martin when you make your reservation.....be honest with yourself you probably don't know that many comics.
Take a date, get a group of friends, etc.....This place is a great laugh after a long week of putting up with idiots at work.
Try the silly drinks with umbrellas, they go down easy and pack a punch by the time you leave!!
It was awesome!! I went with my family and friends, and we had a blast! It is a two drink minimum, but we didn't mind. The show was very funny!!! And the crowd was occupied mostly by none-minorities, I felt comfortable. We also had reservations and it was prett packed! So I give it five stars because it was great!
December 2 Darryl Lenox: We really enjoyed ourselves at the Comedy Cafe. We had reservation before attending, since the majority of the crowd is not African American, but we really had a great time.
