We continue to return to Osteria del Mondo frequently, for the incredible food and wine served. It always gets good press, including Wine Spectator. Marc Bianchini (a CIA graduate), along with THI, his executive chef, always turn out a consistent, high quality meal. This is classic northern Italian cuisine, not the Olive Garden. It is a higher dining experience. The menu is changed seasonly, so with the specials one never has to eat the same things over and over. The antipastas do include the popular calamari, but the rest are much more imaginitive. The pastas are homemade (Duck Papparadelle or the Sausage with Figs, etc). The seafood is chosen by a chef who spent 3 days a week at the Fulton fish market during his time in New York. It is always fresh and cooked perfectly. Hearty meats are an option and veal is always on the menu. Having experienced the areas traveling in Italy, we find Osteria the closest match in Milwaukee; nearly like we are sitting in Italy. The service is impeccable but not obtrusive. The Italian weighted wine list offers many choices.
After 15 years, we find ourselves going back because of the consistency and value for what is on our plate. Why spend good money on mediocre food? It is always a taste treat and a relaxing place to chill out or chase the blues.
The best Italian food.: This place is the absolute best place for Italian food. Mark Bianchini has created an atmosphere of comfort and style. You must save room for dessert as the Tiramisu is the best dessert in the SE Wisconsin area!
great place for quality dining: the service is bar none and the atmosphere is so beautiful!
