A friend of mine brought me to Capri restaurant about three years ago. They have THE BEST LASAGNA that I've ever had. It's served in a small casserole dish that's topped with lots of mozzarella cheese. The sauce is to die for and is truly the defining part of this dish! It's plenty enough for two full meals. It's served with a salad and delicious garlic bread (the size of a small loaf) that's dripping with garlic butter. They're glad to oblige when I request it to be lightly buttered. Don't be turned off by the appearance of the restaurant. It's badly in need of updating, but the food is definitely worth it! I've also had their pizza and spaghetti, which were also delicious. We've had fast, friendly service each time we've dined there. Don't miss this place if you love lasagna!
Capri's lasagna and garlic bread is what dreams are made of! I'm not kidding. I dream of it. And if I make it home with leftovers, I eat it cold for breakfast. It's wonderful. I actually give my parents lasagna and garlic bread as "gifts" when I visit them up north. Every lasagna I try or every tomato sauce I eat, I'm always comparing it to Capri. The restaurant is a "hole in the wall", old, small, bathroom in basement, doesn't accept credit/debit cards, and they don't have a bar (just a couple kinds of beer and wine) but none of that matters to me!! I see there a ton of great posts about this place already, but I just had to write and urge everyone to try it! If this place ever went out of business (hope it never does, has been around like 40 plus years) I will buy a chest freezer and buy every last lasanga they can make. Support your local businesses.
I had never heard of Capri's until about 4 years ago when I met my now husband. When we walked in I was kind of unsure because of the decor. It was by far the best food I've ever had and we've been going back there frequently! I'm so glad I met my husband, without him I wouldn't have tasted the best lasagna, baked mosticcoli, and garlic bread ever! GARLIC BREAD!
