wow!! I was a little taked back by wildwolf.
I have been shopping at Rays for about 3 years And let me start by saying I have NEVER had a problem. The very first time i was at rays Andy helped me. Iknow this because when i was done shopping i asked for his name because he was so helpfull. Every time i go to Rays i ask for Andy. He is allways very friendly and polite. He has never been rude as far as i have seen. In my opinion Andy is one of the most knowledgeable butchers on staff. (ask for his Thai Flank steak Lettuce wrap recipe!! very very good and very healthy!) I work in a doctors office and have told many people about Ray's Butcher Shoppe and will keep telling people. I will also tell them to ask for Andy. To make a long story short Ray's Butcher Shoppe is a very special little place. You have to understand that some people are never happy no matter how good something is.

To spend over $70 and get rude service from one of the people working there is just unexceptable. I was in the store at 9am on 2/14/09 and Andy was taking care of me. Totally rude from the beginning of him helping me. The rudeness only got worse by the passing moment. As minutes passed and Andy decide thatI could see it in his eyes as well as in his tone of voice "Are you done now?" When I clearly stated that I was going to be buying alot. When I asked him to see a steak that was under the one I picked already, he began to get more rude with me. Stating I can't ruin the display just because you want to see the steak under the green paper!!!!! I thought I was the customer that was purchasing the steaks? Or am I misstaken? The rude behavior that ANDY displayed to me shows me how the store runs their business. with the economy so bad, that rude behavior not only turns me away from RAYS BUTCHER SHOP, but my friends and family who love meat and steaks is their favorite just like mine. Working at a casino the word will get around of the treatment I received and I am sure others will turn away from the RAYS BUTCHER SHOP as well. Yes the steaks are great, but to me being treated the way I was today, turns me away from this store. I will not spend my money here again and would have to say, if you read this right now you should do the same. Furthermore, I talked to the boss and not even a discount off my bill or nothing to try and keep in good with the customer also shows they could care less about how you were treated to buy and get out. I am not going back ever again, because I go other places and at least I get treated with some respect and to me that is one of the most important thing I look for. Quality is always going to be number 1, but being treated like that will not be overlooked by me.

After hearing all the rave reviews about Ray's for years, I went there yesterday to get a beef rump roast to cook this afternoon following the disguisting loss of my beloved Packers to Tampa Bay. I cooked the roast @ 325 complete with meat thermometer in the meat and I took it out when the thermo registered 160 degrees(medium doneness) internally. What a disappointment-very tough and little flavour. Pretty bad considering I paid $5.00 per pound. I am a pretty decent cook and i know I did everything right only to be let down on this oft ballyhooed butcher shop. I will not be back.
