I took my car to Heiser for body work after an accident. Thinking they are a larger multi-location dealership they should provide good body work for their customers. Unfortunately this didnât turn out to be the case. They used refurbished parts when new were specified from the insurance company, their tech stripped out mounting clips and instead of ordering new ones and letting someone know they just passed it off until I inspected the car and pointed out that I could pull my rear lower quarter panel down almost a ¼â. Then put a refurbished rim on, not a big deal, but it was all scrapped up around the edges and my insurance company directly told me that they paid for a new one which in turn through my premiums I paid for. They also didnât replace or repair other items that were directly related to the accident (center cap and an 8-10â scratch on the lower rear qtr). When questioned about the items they pointed the finger at everyone but themselves which is where it should be pointed!
The paint on the lower passenger side is drippy, plastic paint vs. steel paint doesnât match. Then to top it off 3 weeks after I picked the car up I slid into a snow bank, low speed - low impact and yes I know thatâs my fault, and the front bumper that was replaced and painted by Heiser is 1/3 stripped-peeled of all its paint. The rest is soon to fall off as I can see it is not adhered well to the surface of the bumper. They told me this âwas normalâ and let me know they would cut me a deal to fix that, I'm sure you would but I no longer trust you. However on my original bumper that had a much higher impact at 65-70mph no paint other than scratches and scuffs were present.
Overall I wouldnât recommend Heiser to anyone for body work or anything else for that matter; service and quality of work were substandard for their price and the fact they are a large dealership! If you want the run around and changing answers after you discover problems and want to bring your car back for more time and inconveniences to you, which they donât seem to care about, then by all means go to Heiser!
Just my opinion on my experience here!
Inadequate service: One week ago I took my car in for a maintenance check. Jordan, I believe, was very friendly and personable and took care of getting my car looked at. After it was done I started towards my sisters house about 40 minutes away when I noticed my gas pedal was not giving the proper acceleration and noticed that the gas tank was nearly empty. I had started out from the dealership with a 3/4 full tank mind you, I managed to pull up to a gas station before it gave out and called for a tow. Luckily there was a towing station across the street and they came over and after I described the problem to them they immediately knew what it was. During the process of being serviced that same morning, they had failed to reatatch the filter assembly properly and so I was losing fuel every time I had accelerated. I had them fix it instead of towing it ALL they way back to the dealership and went on my way.
When I returned to the dealership to be reimbursed for the towing and fixing fees that they had caused, the service manager was very skeptical and suspicious. He refused to pay for the gas that I had had to pay for to fill up my tank again and was barely convinced to pay for the towing fee. He did not want to take responsibility that they had made an error in servicing my car. Needless to say I will be looking for a different place to have my car serviced and will more than likely not look there next year when I look for a new car.
