User Rating: 5 out of 5 starsSimply the best place to eat for miles around. When we lived in Kenosha,(15 miles south) we drove up there at least twice a week. My mother loved this place from the day it opened, (1946) and so does everyone I've ever recomended.

Last night, Oct. 27, 2008, we had the worst dining experience we've ever had at the Corner House. It was embarrassaing because we had talked the place up and took out-of-state relatives there.
The service was satisfactory but the food was not.
My wife ordered scallops. They were so over-cooked they were inedible. Our server said his hand were tied as to what he could do, but said he would tell "George," who it turns out is the owner.
George arrived at the table with a carry-out box containing more over-cooked scallops. He said, "They're a little dark but they're OK. Just put them in the microwave." His only other concession was to offer a drink (my wife doesn't drink) or a dessert. Both were declined. He did nothing to accommodate us as far as the bill is concerned, and for four people it was substantial.
The "hot" bread was even cold in the center.
After many prior visits to the corner house we are so disappointed in the way we were treated last night we are unlikely to go back any time soon. It was completely mishandled. In a service business we got little service, but we sure were "given the business."Comments (1)

That is really too bad, I have been there about 4 times and always the food was great. I will go again, hopefully things have improved. 
User Rating: 5 out of 5 starsA great place for a Prime Rib and Martini! Not many of these places left! (Here's a secret, trust me, ask for the Prime Rib cut thats NOT on the menu!) You'll thank me! I grew up going here...

I was in town last week,first time in seven year. Stil the most comfortable place to go with the same great food. OUTSTANDING!!!
Funny part about this restaurant is the way the food makes by intestines churn. Have you ever pooped out the back of the toilet seat? you will after eating at this crap hole.
