My family and i stayed at this motel quite a few times in the last 7 years and the new owners/management (since i believe 2009)are wonderful,friendly and courteous people.The rooms were just remodeled in the last 2 years and are really nice.Definately a big difference from when we stayed a couple years before that!I would recommend this place to my family and friends coming to the portage area.The area is nice! Don t let the low rates and somewhat good outside looks fool you. I stayed for 1 night here, and it was nothing but like living in a run down motel with Outdated beds that had jail like mattress, broken lights, dirty carpet, bedding etc. In other words if you wanna pay a over priced rate to stay in a 1 star motel that s mostly booked with low income tenants noisy at night. then be my guest. Otherwise, pay $5-$10 more and stay at Super 8 instead. BTW: The owners don t look any better, when I checked in, their son came out to the desk in his pjs, then the wife came out again is just pjs. In the Afternoon. OMG... talk about poor business skills.
