I think that rumbafool is a liar because i go to the cotton patch every weekend and the bosses are very nice they make there way around the dining room to ask everyone how there food is. They say Hi and good bye. I went in there the Opening night when it came back and the bartenders that were there are ther except for a few of them. I love there food, the atmospere is great our kids love the animals. We will always be loyal customer the the Cotton Patch Supperclub

I think the reviews are written by the owners, as they have far more than any other place in the area. Everyone I know who has been there recently says it's overpriced and the owners are rude and uppity. I went to the Cotton Patch over the summer, and I paid a fortune for a weak drink, and was told they are cutting back when I asked for a second olive. The owners are more concerned with their stupid animals than with the customers. They brag about being named best in the area by the Shawano Leader, but the people who own Classics said it was just an advertising scheme, because everyone in Shawano who advertises with them won something. Then if you pay for a thank you ad, you get some kind of ribbon on your sign or something.

I have heard that all of their bartenders since they opened have quit because they can't tolerate the boss-lady, who think she knows everything. There were other partners, too, but they walked out.

I wouldn't give them any of my money, that's for sure.

    The Patch is BACK

My family and I have been coming to the Cotton Patch for many years. As kids we always enjoyed going out and feeding the many deer, wild turkeys, geese, and beautiful peacocks that they kept on the property. Over the last few years the quality of the food and service had taken a sharp decline. We were devastated to find that they also had removed the deer. It just wasn’t the same.

Recently we learned that it has new owners. It was their billboard on the way up to the lake that said the Cotton Patch is back, that got our attention. It took a couple of trips to the area before we decided to stop in to see what was going on. All I can say is wow! The Patch is really back, better than ever!

The restaurant has been totally remodeled. The new lights brighten everything up and the mirrored interior walls give you a fantastic view for everyone at the table. The large deck over the water was a lovely place to have cocktails before dinner. They have these cute little pagers which actually talk to you and say “your table is ready” it’s fun.

We stopped on a Friday night and my parents had the fish fry and they raved about it. My husband and I wanted something different. He had the Baby Back ribs (he finished them all – he wouldn’t share a one) and I had the Chicken Oscar, which was served with real crab. It was amazing! My brother and sister-in-law had the one-pound pork chop and they said it just melt in your mouth. The prices were in the same range as the other places we go to in the area but what a difference in the food.

After dinner we sat at the bar for a brandy ice cream drink, which came with a little flame on the top and listened to the entertainment. They did the usual duets and he did a good Frank Sinatra. She was excellent with my request to do some Nora Jones. They looked like they were having a good time. I know we were which brings me to the beautiful grounds and the animals.

They are everywhere you look. It’s amazing! They have at least a hundred different geese, peacocks, and ducks. I counted seven miniature donkeys, a dozen goats, and three llamas. We got to walk down around the water and took some of the hay they leave for you to feed them. They were all very friendly and affectionate. It brought back many great memories. The car was buzzing with comments about the night and all I could say was the patch is back! That’s for sure! Everyone agreed!!

Last week I was with my parents again and they pointed out that The Patch was picked "The Best of Fine Dining and Music in the wolf river region. This was a vote conducted by the Shawano Leader. Here is a quote from the article "The food is another draw, simply because it’s amazing. Among the customer favorites you will find Oscar tenderloin medallions with real lump crab, cedar planked salmon, Jack Daniel’s BBQ baby back ribs, hand-cut steaks, and a one-pound porthhouse pork chop char-broiled until the jucies flow. Enjoy the meal as the music plays. From 6:30 to close each Friday and Saturday which adds to the experience.

SHAWANO LEADER, THURSDAY, OCTOBER 23, 2008. It is nice to see that the entire area loves my favorite place.
