User Rating: 5 out of 5 starsSweet Home Chicago: After living in the Green Bay area for almost a year, I've just accepted that the area I left, Chicago, was becomin a distant memory. I was resigned to eating at endless "family style" pancake places adorned with Packer photos, fish frys, and diners, where the only character you could find in the place was usually me. Things are looking up, though, as my wife had a little joint called Pasquales recommended to her - she knew it was perfect the moment she stepped in. Pasquales captures a Chicago feel with the classic decor, the well-worn feel, the great blues music coming from the speakers, and of course a menu featuring Vienna beef dogs, gyros, and ribs. Try the chili dog - they'll giva ya two - or the Colorado style chili, with a flavor that will put a zing in your mouth without going overboard. The ribs have won local awards, and I wasn't complaining after polishing off a full slab with some slaw. This joint features a bar and some small tables and the staff is young and laid-back. A great reminder of the flavor of the Windy City, in De Pere, Wisconsin, of all places.
