Tempura House

Absolutely Disgusting - Will NEVER Return
My husband and I went to Tempura House in Plover, WI for the lunch buffet on 10/1/09. The restaurant was disgustingly dirty. Tables set for new customers were visibly soiled with food. The forks set at our table were sticky, as were salt & pepper shakers and the spoon handles on their buffet line. We were seated next to a window that had dust and debris pooling in the corners. There were numerous flies buzzing our table and the buffet area. The food on the buffet was good, but after several bites, I found two hairs in my sweet and sour chicken and lost my appetite. When we told the waitress, she was unconcerned and the hostess did not offer any refund or discount for my (largely uneaten) meal. We used to order take-out on a weekly basis, but will never return or order again after seeing their dirty dining area. I can't imagine what the kitchen must look like. YUCK!

I drive down from Wausau to meet friends there. We all love it including my 'world traveler' friend. The food is great and the prices are very reasonable. I love that the buffet gives me a chance to try new things. I've never had bad service there. I highly recommend it.

Because of the good things people have said about this place my family and I decided to try out their Sunday Night buffet. I'd like to say it was one of the worse asian buffets I've ever eaten at. The "crispy shrimp" was extra crispy because the shrimp were battered and deep-fried with the shell still intact! Also they were not deveined at all! Gross!! The rest of the buffet was lack-luster and mediocure at best.

I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone and I certainly will not be going back. The Sunday Night buffet was expensive and not worth it at half of what we paid. I also found the place itself to be dirty and the service was poor. The only recommenation I could make about this place is, "Stay far away".
