What Frankie's lacks in atmosphere, it more than makes up for with great pizza at an unbelievably low price. In this part of the state, its only rival is Sammy's in Superior.

FRANKIE'S PIZZA IS DEFINITELY THE BEST PIZZA IN NORTHERN WISCONSIN. TRY "THE WORKS" WITH SAUERKRAUT OR THE TACO PIZZA COVERED IN DORITOS!!! EVERY PIZZA IS DELICIOUS EITHER FRESH OR COLD AND A DAY OLD. A DEFINITE MUST HAVE WHEN VISITING ASHLAND WISCONSIN.

I grew up in Ashland and left nearly 20 years ago. I was back there recently from Dallas for a family reunion, and only had three days there. The family had decided all of my dinner plans for me, and when I told my sister how disappointed I was that I couldn't choose Frankie's Pizza for an evening dinner, she and her husband ordered two jumbo pizzas for take out for an after dinner "snack." My brief moment of depression turned into a very happy moment. No one in the USA makes pizza like Frankie's, and I was looking forward to that great pizza moment for several weeks. One can actually taste their ingredients as they don't fine-chop them to death, and they don't skimp on the cheese, either. I used to eat at Frankie's on a regular basis when I lived in Ashland, and I will certainly look forward to visiting them again on future return trips. I miss their pizzas. They are the best I have ever eaten.
