DON'T RENT FROM THIS COMPANY.

Always take pictures before move-in and after...I didn't and now they are trying to screw me over for every little thing that was wrong with their place before I moved in. I was freezing all winter (kept it around 60 degrees) and they are charging me extra for the heating bills which were supposed to have been included already. The building is not up to code...no light to turn on to go up to the 2nd floor, loose floorboards, screens with holes in them, and much, much more. My house also had mice and bats and they didn't solve the problem when we put in a written notice, which was the only way they would accept anything.

The business has absolutely terrible ethics. Bad service and rude employees. They won't tell me what they are individually charging me for but instead send an all-in-one bill. They say I must write a letter asking for individual costs, but that it will probably take them a long time to get back to me because this is their busiest time of year. Anytime I ask for help from them they say it is their busiest time of year...

ALL AROUND BAD SERVICE, TERRIBLE, RUN-DOWN HOMES, UNETHICAL PEOPLE.

The only thing worse than the apartments themselves is the business ethics endowed by the employees. I will be filing a detailed report with the Better Business Bureau about how AE attempted to steal $700 of my money... $500 deposit and $200 extra for non-detailed expenses. We have sent in roughly 4 letters now requesting multiple things from invoice and proof of work to notification that we are challenging their deposit report. Avoid this company and DO NOT RENT FROM THEM. If you want to try your luck please do so. If you are currently renting TAKE PICTURES AFTER CLEANING and date them for your records. AE will try to get your money at all costs. I am currently considering legal council and hope to bring down their horrible operation and send Peter Wiese to jail for fraud.

American Edge is like the slum lords of menomonie. They take terrible care of the vast majority of their property, while taking care only of their fancy new property. and they keep as much of your deposit as they can steal. Even if you clean your place immaculately clean upon moveout!
