Salon Mode

Okay, I'm about to write a book here. I don't know how this place got a spot on the top 200 salons in the country as it claims. My best friend took her bridal party of ten to get hair, nails, and make up done and it was an awful experience. The bride and I were 20 minutes late because of circumstances we could not control (hello it was her wedding!), and the minute we walked in you could tell the staff was none too happy. The manager never said a word or came over to my friend even though she spent hundreds of dollars for the services. I was getting a pedicure and the nail tech that was doing a service after me came over and started ranting about how she had a client NOW and was so unprofessional. I said it was my fault and she didn't even acknowledge me. Awkward! I also had my make up done and I even showed the girl a picture of a dramatic look and she made me look like I had nothing on my face! I had to redo it along with some of the other bridesmaid's hair. The bride was disappointed and redid her make up as well, but we didn't say anything for fear of getting screamed at. I have been a hairstylist/nail tech for the last eight years in Chicago and I know for a fact you NEVER show your frustrations or attitude to the client, and that in this business running late is something you have to expect and handle professionally. The whole experience was uncomfortable and the bride was so upset. Oh, and she had been there twice to get her color done and they messed that up as well. I had to fix it both times, and the second time she had spots where her hair had faded after only two weeks! That owner lost ten paying customers who will never step foot in that place again.

I Have been going to this salon for about 5 years and had nothing but satisfying experiences. I have recommended friends and family who feel the same way. In my opinion this bridal party came in with the additude of finding negativity. I find it hard to believe EVERYONE in the party was unhappy with their services. And if you have a reasonable complaint there should be no fear in telling your stylist how you feel. If you were that unhappy the first two times getting your hair done why would you go back yet again. Speachless.

I have going to this place a few times over the years. Staff is pretty friendly, owner always makes sure you are treated like a queen. Once I came home and my husband said "oh my god your hair is purple in the back!" So I went there the following day and they fixed it for free (but I must tell you I will never use that person again...)

Overall it is a nice place but the lighting is horrible so always double check your do in the bathroom before you leave!!!

A love the salon over all. My person is katie and I love her she is sooo nice. Very Very expensive..... not some place I want to go to alot.... but reminds me of a big city salon
