The earlier reviews are very accurate. As of late I'm sad to say the food has gone downhill. Charlie needs to be in the kitchen where he belongs. The last negative review sums it up regarding the pricing. Charlie grabs prices out of the sky and attaches them to the meal. I had a special the other night consisting of Red Fish and pasta. If there was 2 ounces of Red Fish I'd really be surprized. If you want a good meal stick to the items which are consistant. Sampler Platter and Gumbo are always good. The bar is small and unfortunately most the patrons smoke. The waitstaff (in my opinion) are full of themselves. I like to patronise the independent restaurants but I'm having a hard time justifying the Menasha Grill as they are really close to 3 strikes and your out.
The only place for Cajun/Creole: The owners are good friends and the greatest of people. In fact, all the employees are a rare breed...polite, helpful, go the extra mile, and most of all FUN!! If you like Cajun/Creole food, try it made by people that actually lived in Louisiana and know what it's supposed to taste like. This is THE place and these are THE people. If you want to try a little of everything, try their awesome buffett. My personal favorites...the Blackened Alligator and the Popcorn Crawfish PoBoy. Wash it down with their "Hurricanes" or a genuine Louisianna Beer (Abita). Don't forget to ask about their Mardi Gras and New Year parties...You'll have a blast!!!
The whole experience was fantastic! Very polite and helpful. The food was delicious. We drove from Green Bay, and we can't wait to go back, for sure!
