The Mississippi Belle has been a destination location since its founding in 1962. The restaurant has been revitalized under the ownership of the husband and wife team of Chef William Kopp and General Manager Hope Kopp. The modern art displayed by local artists enhances the ambiance. The menu is contemporary American with eclectic influences. The wine list features over 30 wines served by the glass to compliment any dish. User Rating: 5 out of 5 starsI went on a Saturday night cruise at the local car show which happens to be in the scenic downtown Hastings area. The Mississippi Belle is right in the heart of the car show action. There's a food booth setup just in front of "The Belle" during the car show which offers an excellent pork sandwich for an alternative to the other food stands that are unhealthy deep fried junk. My second time at the car show I had stopped in the bar lounge and had a couple drinks. My wife and I agreed that this will be our place of choice every time we stop in Hastings. If you are in the area don't hesitate to stop by this place. I gave it five stars and will return...

My husband is a meat and potatoes kind of guy and I love pastas. This place has the best of both worlds. I didn't know it had so much more than italian food, but their steak specials are beyond mouth watering. We got full, we felt like part of a family the way both our waitress and the owners treated us, and we got visited by the chef. Our waitress was Gerry and she even wowed my husband. This is not an easy feat! The wine we had is our new favorite as we are a huge fan of California wines. So many to choose from and they gave us tastes of them before we decided on the perfect one! I recommend to everyone, the prices are no more than chain restaurants and the experience is memorable! Five stars!!!!
User Rating: 1 out of 5 starsBad Bad Bad: I ordered the rack of lamb. First of all it was WAY overpriced. The plate looked so plain that I could have done a better presentation at home. Mint jelly served out of a little jelly container with a tab on the top like the ones they serve at Mcdonalds for breakfast. HORRIBLE presentation. They could have at least taken it out of the container and put it on a small dish or something. Also, there was something in my friends dish that she was allergic to and she specifically requested it to be made without it. They didn't make it right. They wouldn't give us a refund and insisted that we take a new one. The new dish was so plain there was no sauce on it and it took so long that by the time it came I was already done eating so my friend got it to go. I will never, ever eat at that dive again.
