Croix Management is the worst management company that I have ever had to deal with. They should be put out of business & they should be ashamed of themselves, but they are not. That is why they keep ripping people off that are living in moderate income housing and making a living ripping off people like this while their "owner" - Marge Alden - the leader of this cult, the mother of the employee's & owner of Croix - sits in Florida on vacation. While the family running the business back home does not return security deposits and sends the money to Marge in Florida while she sits on the beach!
The reviews that honest tenants put on this site for people to read how their renting experience truly was with this so called company. What I have read by the comments of the reviews that have been commented on higher review rating are from employees of the "CROIX CULT COMPANY" trying to do a cover up!
The message the I'am responding goes to the chick that rented at Theif River Falls, Minnesota. Her statements are so untrue..Sounds like she was a eviction or a problem tenant...I have been to those properties and there is nothing wrong with them, The property is well kept up and the caretaker is a nice guy. So this girl needs to grow up. And when she stop whinning about everything, and lives in the real world she will find out that all rentals are not perfect. I know lots of people who have rented from Croix Managment and have gotten there full deposits back and have had a good exsperience.
As far as the heat and pipes getting froze that is inpossible since the heat is paid for and always on. The only way that could happen is if she left her windows open in the winter.
what about the property in Thief River Falls? It's horribly run down, the carpet throughout the hallways and entryways of the three-story buildings is stained, it's a secure building and half the time the call box doesn't work because the caretaker keeps changing the codes without notice. The building key your issued works fine in the back door, but sticks in the front. In the summertime walking around the buildings not a problem, with -40 wind chills and 3 feet of snow in the wintertime this is a problem. As soon as you walk in, the building reeks of garbage, stale diapers and pet odor. The caretaker who lives on property is also a frightening man, very sexually explicit in his speech and behaviors.Intimidating, as he makes a point to let you know under no uncertain terms that he's in charge and if you don't do as he says he can make life very unpleasant, he also brags about how if you are a HUD tenant he can make it so HUD drops you never allowing you to apply for assistance in the future. To know this man and his two male helpers all have master keys to my apartment (I'm a single woman living alone),is disheartening to say the least. I transferred units to accommodate a new tenant and was told after I agreed to move that I would have to sign another years lease by HUD. I was also told it was to late to change my mind,so I had no choice now.Yesterday he sent one of his helpers to my door with paper work I was told by the helper I needed to fill out, sign and return. Okay not a problem, however this man stood at my front door and told me I had to sign the paperwork "RIGHT NOW" and give it back to him so he could return it to the office. I told him no I was busy, that I'd read the papers sign them and return them to the office myself. He stood there for five minutes arguing with me, telling me I had to sign them "RIGHT NOW" and that he had been instructed to wait at my door. I don't know about anyone else but that's illegal. He did put new carpet in the unit I transferred into, but there's nails sticking through. I cant get anyone from the state or government to listen to my complaint about this building or the caretaker.HUD funds are used to properly maintain this property.Yet the windows freeze shut in the winter, under the sink pipes as well as the heating system (water)pipes freeze and bust repeatedly in the winter due to improper installation. 9 times out of 10 the tenant is told they are at fault, and are charged for all repairs and damages. I'm counting the days until I can give my "60" day notice. I know I will not get my deposit back, no one ever does. I'm on disability and the way these people take advantage is not only wrong, but also illegal.Prior to moving out I fully intend to contact my caseworker,HUD and legal aid in the hopes of finding someone who will do the final walk-through with me, a witness if you will. 500 + $ is a lot of deposit money to lose for no reason.
