Great Place to Visit: I am a volunteer with the Minnesota Historical Society so I have to admit my opinion is biased, but the museum is a great place to go. They have a fun gift shop, the exhibits are interesting and hands on. It is a great place to take kids, especially in the summer--they have great activities just for the kids. Definately check it out, and if you live in the area and have kids, try one of their summer camps for kids. Also, the Alexander Ramsey House is close by and they give great holiday tours.
Something for everyone...: I had concerns this history museum would be dull for my young kids. Not so! It was fascinating for them and my wife and I. They had a great collections of exhibits that covered history and culture. The facility itself is stunning. It's a beautiful building. Highly recommended.
Our family spent 4 hours there and could not see everything. We need to go back.
