Possibly the best atmosphere and food in the Twin Cities...and we think we have been to all of them. Their bar is second to none. They have everything one can think of to enjoy. Their wait staff is excellent albeit a little too "stuffy" for my taste at times. Try their chocolate/raspberry cake...a one-of-a-kind desert that makes my mouth water just thinking about it. Whoever the Chef is does a remarkable job in preparing this wonderful cake/desert. Their salmon is fabulous as are their steaks. Be sure to use the valet parking as the cost is minimal to have you car parked out in front for a small tip. Get a table in the very back end of the restaurant and you can see over the park to the Ordway Theatre. (I used to caddy for Mr. Ordway at the White Bear Yacht Club back in the early 60's.) Great man...but ony gave me a 25 cent tip for carrying his 55 pound leather bag around for 18 holes...and I was one of the better caddies in those days.
But, back to the food. It really is fabulous! Expensive, but fabulous!
Love the Saint Paul!: The food is just divine! Classics such as steak and potatos as well as great new ideas. Service is prompt and personable. Just don't go if you have a low budget for the night!
Nice Location: Wonderful location/views, especially at night when Rice Park is lit up. Service and food are sporadic, but it's always great for evening drinks.
