| About: | Mickey's features everything that makes diners an American staple. Try an order of the "2s" (2 eggs, 2 pancakes, 2 pieces of bacon or sausage). Besides buttermilk pancakes and potatoes O'Brien, the diner whips up a tasty cauldron of baked beans, Mulligan stew and bean soup, all made from pre-WWII recipes. The burgers are greasy and so are the fries, but they are lip-smacking good. Top it off with a malt made with old-fashioned ice cream. |

The filthiest diner I have ever seen - "Mickey" must be turning in his grave at the appalling hygiene standards. Staff all looked dishevelled and dirty with hygiene problems and the dirtiest nails I have ever seen. I am shocked the Hygiene Inspector hasn't closed it down. The worse dining experience in my life!
I have driven by the place a lot. While I was younger and did not drive, we would meander at it as our parents drove us by and they would never stop at the cute little building. Also, I recall some of the "Mighty Ducks" movies being shot on location. As I have aged and I am now old enough to have a family of my own, I stopped at this little establishment with a friend who had flew from Oregon. They have 1/2lbs. classic hamburgers that are amazing! Not only are they amazing, they are cheap! To my surprise, there's a downstairs with a restroom underneath. Something else I thought that was interesting, they had listed several celebrities and movies that had a scene or two on location. If you are in the downtown St. Paul or greater twin cities area, consider stopping by. Don't be afraid of the locals, downtown St. Paul is actually very decent.
MICKEY'S: ok for that taste of diner food at fair (for by in downtown) this is the place. With food cooked to order and milkshakes, even IBC Rootbeer. Mickey's is a just have to try once place
