I enjoy the Hy-vee's in Sioux Falls. All employees are quite friendly and helpful. The only drawback I see is that their prices are somewhat high and I wish they would do something about that. They do have good sales.
I am a Hy Vee convert. When living in Nebraska I did not enjoy a shopping trip to any store. Now I shop Hy Vee and I enjoy it. The employees know me by name, know what I expect, know how to help me. I too have run into problems now and then, however mentioning it to a manager certainly does correct a problem. I have not experienced poor quality of meat from Hy Vee, although I am sure that can happen anyplace. We expect things to be perfect at all times, that is not going to happen at any store in any part of the world. We are fortunate to have so many groceries available to us. Having resided on the west coast for a few years, and visiting the east coast I am more than happy with what we have here in the midwest. I will vote for Hy Vee on 33rd. and Minnesota any time. A Sioux Falls, SD shopper :)
HyVee is a monopoly!: Its easy to stay in business when your the only game in town.
If there were competitors in this town like on the east coast HyVee would be out of business in 1 year!
Their produce should be thrown to the pigs. It goes bad in one day. Apples are mealy and tasteless. Citrus is often bruised and spoiled.
Their beef is pale, tough and tastes like wood, we're forced to pay top dollar.
I thought this area was the beef capital of the world, my guess the prime is being shipped out to the coasts.
They should have closed that store on 33rd st years ago, it smells and its dirty and unkept. If this was a warmer state it would swarm with roaches!
C'm,on who you fooling? Get with the program, the people that raive about HyVee, obviiously have never left the state of South Dakota!

An apparent Wal-Mart shopper. Obviously you can hit and miss with any grocery store. One bad experience can leave a bad taste in your mouth. I myself have had a bad experience, however I brought it up to the managers at the HyVee I shopped at and they took care of me promptly and they exceeded my expectations in the matter. So if you want to compare HyVee to "east coast" grocery stores, move back to the east coast you apparently are bitter about living in the mid-west.
