User Rating: 4 out of 5 starsFood is great, service is fast and prices are reasonable. Dinner for 2 is less than $40. They should accept credit/debit cards though. How come only beer and wine service?

Attention all bikers. We highly recommend stopping for dinner at the Alpine Inn when you are touring the Black Hills. They only serve 2 sizes of tenderloin which is favorful and tender, well chilled lettuce wedge with the best homemade dressing, a baked potato that wasn't steamed in foil and those desserts... not only appealing to the eye, but absolutely delicious as well. The portions are large enough to share with your group. The service is very friendly, efficient and have great attention to detail even though the place is always busy. Make reservations ahead for your group. Our group of eight were not in town at lunch time so unfortunately we didn't try their more expanded luncheon menu. We enjoyed it so much we ate there three out of the six nights we were in town and would have gone back more but they were closed. A must stop in Hill City!!!

A local favorite...
I love this place, the lunch menu has a German base while the dinner is very simple (large or small filet served with a 1/4 head of lettuce).
But the deserts are the best!! I always come here for a meal when I get a chance to come back to the Black Hills.
I love the German Plate with two kinds of Bratwurst and Spaetzle for lunch, and the desert is fair game! You can't go wrong.
(But warning, they do not accept credit cards but I think there is an ATM in the lounge.)
