My family and I have been eating at Acapulco for at least 5 years now, and it is by far the BEST MEXICAN in the fargo/moorhead area, if not the best in North Dakota and the surrounding areas. The portions of food is great, while the service has always been outstading! If you want authentic Mexican food please try this place out because it is utterly amazing! I recommend the Cancun platter.........so very good. Enjoy!!
I've been to Acapulco quite a few times. Back when they were at, the now, Big G's. Back when they were across 13th Ave in that little yellow hole in the wall. I've been a fan of their food for years. Trust me, I grew up in NM, so I no "real" Mexican food from that Para-Alpo crap! I won't touch Mexican Village, Paradiso, or Juanos unless there's friends special events involved. Although, I do enjoy going to the Juanos "fast food" place on 19th Ave to build my own burrito.
I find Acapulco to be the most authentic Mexican food in the local area, hands down! The service there has always been nothing but excellent. Now, if I want authentic "New Mexican" food with all the special ingredients, I just make it myself! :)
Well after hearing good things about this restaurant I decided to bring my family there. I was a disappointed... I had the steak chicano and my wife had the super burrito. The portions were fine but not that great. My steak was chewy and the spanish sauce was more like tomatoe sauce. Her burrito was good but the refried beans were to runny. The salsa that come with the chips was medium heat but more like soup, to runny and almost tasted like chili powder. We ordered a side of cheese sauce and that was excellent, lots of heat. This may be the most authentic mexican food in Fargo but there is a Acupulce restaurant in Coon Rapids, Mn that is the best I've ever had next to living in New Mexico for 6 months. I probably won't return.
