This place had the worst service I have ever seen. The waitress told us that we couldn't order any breakfast or pie because it was too busy and they had a tour bus full of people in the restuarnt.(They have an all day breakfast menu) She slammed our food and glasses full of water on the table and would't talk to us the rest of the time. She wouldn't even talk with us when we wanted to talk to her about the poor service and her attitude. She just walked away. I had a talk with the manager and hopefully this experience won't happen to you. The food was ok but the service deserved an F grade. I have nerver been treated this poorly in any eating establishment in my life!
We were pretty skeptical about the town cafe recommended by the desk clerk at the motel but the food was really good. Everything was homemade and the waitresses were on visas from Bulgaria and were totally charming. Enjoyed our meal.
Loved the Good food Value!: My husband and I found the Town Cafe to be the best little cafe we visted during our ten day stay in Yellowstone National Park. We started by driving there over the rustic one-way pass from Mammoth, only to find a small town on the other side of the pass. And talk about home cooking! Compared to prices in the park, we savored two double buffalo burgers with all the fixings and appitizers for under $20! We enjoyed the laid-back atmosphere, the taxidermy and beautiful framed photography that surrounded us as we ate. The folks who served and cooked made us feel like we were in our own quaint hometown cafe. There was no trouble like we'd had in the park with poorly cooked food either. It was served to perfection. Overall, I would travel back to Gardiner and visit the Town Cafe again and again. Don't let the unassuming name fool you - it's a great little place!
