I went to Louie's on a Sunday morning for their weekend brunch. I had never been there before, but when I got down the stairs I was surprised by how nice and relaxing the atmosphere was. It is decorated in an Asian theme, there were flowers everywhere and the lights were dim- very romantic even in the morning. At the brunch buffet line you can create an omelet, chose a variety of pastries, there was a salad, a hash casserole, bacon, pancakes, biscuits and white gravy, tiramisu, and fresh fruit. My favorite item were the biscuits and gravy. The gravy had a wonderful flavor, and I could actually see the spices and herbs in it. What I also liked was that you could ask for egg whites instead of whole eggs in the omelet. One item they didn't have was skim milk- only whole. Service was just average, the bathrooms and dining area were really clean. I would probably go back again. It's a good place to entertain or bring family who is visiting.
The food was amazing, and the individual server we had was exceptional. It was the manager of the restaurant who was stuck up and not afraid to show it that put a damper on the evening. Having not known it was a "nice" restaurant, my college friends and I went there for a special night out. We're not a noisy bunch, but the look we got when we were to be seated by this man was of disgust. If you're all about service, this isn't the place for you. But if you don't mind having your own quiet evening (though often crowded), this place may suit you. Be warned, it can be pricey.
I use to not like this restaurant when I first went but then I got into sushi and now its one of my favorite restaurants. They also have unlimited crab on tuesdays which is always nice. The only thing I don't really like is the long wait for the food and how crowded it always is. But obviously if its crowded you know that people like it :)
