Not bad, but not 5 stars, clearly better than Dominos generic tasteless pizza. Toppings were fresh, cheese was decent quality, sauce OK but a little generic and a bit light. The crust was fresh, but a bit doughy, it supposed to be crusty on the bottom. Other than the crust, the top side of the pizza was cooked properly with just the right amount of char. Delivery was right on time, friendly.
For reference, I am a NY Italian who has eaten pizza from NY to LA and the top 7 or 8 Italian cities. Pete has nothing to be ashamed about. It's a decent pizza, with fresh ingredients, at a fair price with great service. It's not Ray's of NY, Lamonica's or Pagliacci's in L.A. but it is worth it and likely the pizza in a small Montana town you will find within several hundred miles. I'd recommend eating there.
The wait is worth it. We waited for 25 min and the lines were long, but we got seated quickly. The service was fast, friendly and efficient. Pizza and salad were delicious. We will go back.
After waiting in a long line, and after eating, the host (person that seated us) remembered our name as we were leaving. He was a hoot.
Stayed in W. Yellowstone, MT only one night during a three day Yellowstone Natl Park trip. Ate at Pete's and loved it! We arrived during the dinner rush, waited about twenty minutes for a table. It's seat yourself so you have to wait patiently for a table to open that will seat your party. Once seated, our waitress was quick to come over to get our drink orders and to check on appetizers. We ordered soda and beer as well as the crostini bread appetizer and an order of cream cheese jalapeno poppers.
The drinks were quick to come out and the appetizers followed about fifteen minutes later. We had given our pizza order at the same time and it worked out great as the pizza arrived about forty-five minutes after we'd been seated. Given that we'd been seated just after four other new 4+ tables, this was a quick delivery. We had "The Original Incredible Combination Pizza", a hand-tossed crust with canadian bacon, Italian sausage, pepperoni, black olives, mushrooms, onions and green peppers. This specialty pizza runs from $14-$22, depending on size.
The pizza was hot, loaded with toppings and perfect. I've had pizza from New York to California and this was the best I've had the pleasure of eating. It was well worth the price and simply scrumptious. The menu has sandwiches, burgers, salads and pastas but we couldn't get past the pizza. I did see a burger and it looked delicious, thick and juicy. Our waitress was attentive and friendly, apologizing for the delay and bringing refills as quickly as we needed them.
I'm only sorry we could not eat here again. The next morning, we woke to an unexpected June snowstorm and actually hoped that the road back into Yellowstone was closed so that we could eat at Pete's again! We did have three pieces of leftover pizza and it was just as good cold for lunch as it had been the night before.
