For $13 dollars worth of food I expected way more! I have usually been satisfied with Thai Spicy, but tonight I ordered the "Vegetable medley" and the "Crab Rangoon", let me just say it sucked so bad! I was so hungry and I still couldn't manage to choke it down. The Crab Rangoon tasted really fishy and the wonton it was deep-fried in was way too thick, almost like bread, not light and crispy like the good kind. The vegetables tasted slightly like bleach, they were obviously frozen and I mostly got bamboo shoots and a few slivers of carrot, barely any broccoli or mushrooms. I was expecting a flavorful sauce, but all it seemed to taste like was dirty water, no color, just a box of soggy veggies. Gross! Sorry Thai Spicy, but you just suck lately.
I won't be back. Visited once before and they got our order wrong by giving my girlfriend a hot curry dish when she asked for mild and mine was mild when I asked for medium spicy (you're supposed to choose how spicy you want it), but we didn't make a fuss and ate it. Decided to try it again a couple months later and they did the same exact thing to my order. Asked for medium spicy Kung Pao and it had NO heat at all. On top of that it was luke warm on the plate. And the waitress was snobby. I probably should have sent the dish back, but instead I just won't plop money down at this place again.
Thai Spicy has become our favorite 'no-nonsense' authentic thai choice. We became quite spoiled while in Seattle. This restaurant offers excellent food, and generous portions. If you want it hot, say 'medium'. If you want to remove your taste buds, actually say 'very hot'. This family restaurant will not dissapoint.
