| About: | Chef-owned and operated, Pearl Cafe is an aptly named jewel of a restaurant serving regional cuisine with a country French accent. The massive beams and peach toned bricks of the historic warehouse provide a warm and inviting atmosphere. Specialties include bison with huckleberry-zinfandel sauce, duckling with dried cherries and pomegranate sauce and beef tenderloin with port and Roquefort. Fresh fish dishes change daily and local products are used whenever possible. The menu is rounded out with a variety of appetizers, soups and salads, house made bread and a list of sinfully delicious desserts. Custom wedding and special occasion cakes are produced in the bakery as well. The restaurant serves wine and beer, with a list of 15 wines by the glass, local draft beer, a broad selection of half bottles and over 100 full bottles. |

My husband and I had a lovely, intimate dinner at the Pearl Cafe not long ago. Service was wonderful and our every need was catered to, questions answered, etc. It was lovely. The atmosphere was far better than I'd expected and as to the review that stated the Pearl Cafe makes no effort to fit in to the neighborhood, I truly believe the Pearl enhances the neighborhood and brings a touch of class. We will be indulging in dinners at Pearl whenever we get the chance. I highly recommend the bison!
A must eat experience! I had the Bison(with Mulberry & and porcini sauce) and a fabulous cabernet. Portions were just right and presentation made your mouth water and your eyes widen with delight! The wait staff was impeccable and the food close to heaven! Bret Morris (General Manager) adds even more "flavor" and wit to the whole experience. You have a gourmet meal without having to overdress to go there. I will make this a regular stop on my trips there! If you don't try this beautifully understated food lovers experience EVERYTIME you go to Missoula, you are crazy!
I have eaten here 3 times in the last year, and every meal has been excellent. I have enjoyed their Oregon pinot noirs, which work well with their game dishes (elk and bison). On one occasion, the wait staff opened a bottle for me to serve by the glass. Most recently I tried their halibut, which was fresh and moist.
A good French restaurant is a nice contrast to the mostly cowboy/college cuisine of Missoula. It's expensive, upscale and you need to make a reservation.
