I found Dr. Cox due to a referral from my chiropractor in Arizona and am completely satisfied with his treatment. I need ongoing treatment no matter where I am and I am so grateful to have found Dr. Cox here in Illinois. I refer him to anyone who needs care and have great faith in the type of treatment I receive. He is easy to talk to and seems genuinely interested in this patients. Do yourself a favor and see him for your problems, you won't be sorry.
I have been a patient of John's for 18 years now and my father was a patient of John's father, Alex Cox, until he died from cancer in 1987. If it weren't for Alex, my father's cancer would not have diagnosed as early as it was. While early treatment was not enough to save his life, it did provide us extra time with him and for that I have always been grateful.
John is a great chiropractor and a great person. It is always a pleasure to see him and he always has a smile.
I always recommend John to people that I meet and friends and family who are in pain. And those that do see him are always amazed at the relief they receive from his treatments. Even my 2-year-old daughter has been treated by him, for colic when she was only a few months old and after a head injury where her neck was affected. Even at the age of 2 she is not afraid to have an adjustment, so for those that think that chiropractic is too painful or scary, you should think again.
Anyone who needs or believes they may need a chiropractor should come to Cox chiropractic. John is always willing to help and is not shy about letting you know if other treatments might be helpful too. He really cares about all his patients and you can tell that from the first appointment.
Thanks to John and Patty for all they have done for me and my family and friends over the years. No matter what, I always feel like I can turn to them when I need them and they are always there for me.
Long time patient here. I have been going to John since the early 1990's, and will not go anywhere else.
My "routine" is the have adjustments every 2-4 months or when I feel out of wack.
In about 1994 I was injured when a 1-1/2ton piece of equipment feel on me. I was taken to emergency at Good Shephard Hospital. There where minor cuts, but (3) extremly enlarged discs in the lower portion of my back. Three seperate doctors advised that I have back surgury.
I asked John his advice, and he gave no guarantees, but said we would try adjustments over several weeks to see how I do. Well, long story short, it is now 2007, I have never concidered back surgery agian, and I am in my "routine".
O!!! Also, I'm still alive. And Cox Chropractic is, in large part responible for this fact.
In December 1996 during a "routine" visit, they noticed I was "not looking good" (another phrase was used but Patty will not admit to this). John advised.... No, he forced me to go to the hosiptal for a blood test, and that he would give me the results, to take in for a full physical I had scheduled. Within 3 hours of leaving the hospital blood draw, he called me to his office. He said that the results were unusual and that he had already made an appointment for me to see a Hemotologist/Oncologist at Good Shepard Hospital - in 2 hours!
After this examination, I was told I had CML (Leukemia), and required treatment NOW, and that I needed to go immediately to a Cancer Center. I asked about the full physical I had scheduled in the next 3 weeks. The Hemotologist/Oncologist, and later several other doctors at Loyola (Cardinal Bernardin Cancer Center) later confirmed -- had I waited another 3 weeks, I would not have been alive to make the appointment.
This is why I say John & Patty Cox saved my life. Had they not taken notice of my general health, and got me going in the correct direction, I would not be alive.
The next 2-1/2 years were extemely difficult with the massive amounts of drugs, chemo, hospital stays, and then a MUD (Matched but Unrelated Donor) bone marrow transplant.
After all this, nealy 11 years after it started with John's advice, I am now doing great, and I am back to life and my "routine".
I and all my family give Cox Chiropractic 6 thumbs up.
