I found a 2008 Chevy Malibu for sale on autotrader.com. I arrived at the and saw that the vehicle had 3,000 more miles than was advertised. I also noticed that the interior was dirty and unkempt. I was assured by the salesman that the vehicle would be detailed if I purchased the vehicle. I agreed to purchase the vehicle. I provided him with my plate transfer info. I was then turned over to the dealership’s finance officer. I filled out a form which only asked for basic personal information needed to apply for credit. I assumed that, once approved, the finance officer would then obtain specifics regarding my exact loan amount, and other particulars prior to completing any paperwork. After a long waiting period, he came to the waiting area and asked me to come back to his desk. From the very first moment in dealing with him, he portrayed a sense of disorganization and lack of knowledge. Every single form that he had printed had at least one error, and he had to re-print some forms more than once before all errors were corrected! The first form was the odometer disclosure statement. The form had my middle initial wrong and the form showed the odometer reading with 3,000 more than the actual mileage. The next form was the motor vehicle title and registration form. The form was missing all of my plate transfer information (that I provided to the salesman). It was completed with all registration fees to apply for new plates. Each time he re-printed the form and presented it to me, I would notice either the same errors that existed before, or new errors that he created. At one point I told him that I would just complete the form myself at home and submit it to the DMV. He stated that I cannot do that (which is not true). After 4 times of reprinting this form, it still had an error showing a $3 fee for a temporary plate. I was so aggravated at this point that I just corrected the errors on the form in pen and signed it. I was then presented with the vehicle purchase contract. This contract showed me borrowing the entire amount of the vehicle, when I was in fact financing $7500, and paying cash for everything above that amount. Like I had stated previously, after initially providing him with my basic info for financing, I was expecting him to approach me to learn the particulars about how much I was financing etc…..he never did obtain that information prior to completing these forms. Of course all of the fees related to title and registration were inaccurate. After all we went through with the title and registration form, he didn’t correct the information on the purchase contract! This form had to be reprinted twice before it was free of errors.

I arrived a full 24 hours later to take delivery of the vehicle. As the salesman walked me back to the vehicle, he was explaining my on-star membership. As he was putting the plates on, I looked inside and realized that my vehicle did not even have on-star! I sat in the vehicle to leave. I immediately noticed that not only had the vehicle not been “detailed,” it had not even been cleaned at all! As I started to make my way down the road, I noticed that the gas gauge showed less than ¼ tank of gas! After I arrived home, I noticed the oil change sticker on the window showed that an oil change was due! I took the vehicle into jiffy lube for an oil change where I was informed that the coolant reservoir was nearly empty! This is a GM certified pre-owned vehicle! You would think that it would not need an oil change and other fluids added! I have never before purchased a vehicle with a gas tank nearly empty! Other dealerships have always released vehicles to me with a full tank of gas. I have purchased several vehicles from several different dealerships in my lifetime and I have never seen this type of disorganization from employees and I have never had a vehicle delivered in this condition. This is the worst car buying experience I have ever had!

I HAVE BOUGHT SEVERAL CARS AT RAYMOND CHEVROLET AND I RECENTLY WENT IN THERE TO FIND OUT THAT NONE OF THE MANAGEMENT STAFF I HAD WORKED WITH IN THE PAST WERE NO LONGER THERE. I WAS INTRODUCED TO A MIKE F THAT WAS RATHER RUDE AND I WENT TO CANCEL A SERVICE CONTRACT AND THE FINANCE MANAGERS SAID THAT I WAS NOT ALLOWED TO. I WILL NEVER RECOMMEND THIS DEALER AGAIN TO NO ONE.
