I read a few reviews on this site and made my decision to have some local comfort food at Paradise Pup. People, the reviews are spot on. I had the 1/3 cheddar char burger with everything and it was on par with the ones I make at home. There was so much extra stuff, in addition to the big slab of meat, that I had to do a little cleaning up after eating. I went at approximately 2:00 pm on a weekday afternoon and ended up waiting 5 or so minutes while they cooked my burger. Good stuff!
Long, long, insanely long lines mar this otherwise iconic stand in the middle of the Des Plaines River floodplain. Run by a family of brothers who, according to legend, had a grill there and their father bought the property and there it went.
Yellow egg buns smeared with Merkt's cheese and heaps of grilled onions make this one to remember.
Great shakes as well, so go for the heart-attack special: fries with cheese and enough extras to stop an elephant's ticker, but damned good.
