Dr. McGowan was great. However, previous reviews regarding the office staff are accurate. There needs to be better management and coordination of the office staff and how they contact and deal with patients. I went in for bloodwork and complaints about joint pain. A week after my appointment, the office called and read off my bloodwork on my answering machine and that they would call back later with a referral to a different doctor. That never happened. When I did call to get my referral and explanation of my bloodwork, I was passed to several people before getting the correct person. My advice, ask to speak to the doctor directly, even if you have to wait a while to hear back from them.
The physician's are very good. Each and every one of them are friendly and caring. The receptionist up front is utterly rude. She was very unprofessional, sarcastic, and ignorant. The wait time is horrible. Reality is, the front desk are the first people you deal with. If they are rude; it might not be worth going back. Certainly makes me think twice.
Dr. McGowan is the best Dr. I have ever had. If he is not available I will see Dr. Clark. They work with you on every level and have so much compassion. Dr. McGowan is the type of guy that I would invite to my wedding - he is so friendly. I really feel like he really cares about me. Since my whole family goes there, he is always asking how someone is if they have not been in for awhile.

Oh my god! After reading all the reviews, I now see I am not the only one. I work at Abbott and sent many people to this practice, but not any more. The receptionist at the front desk was horribly rude. I waited an hour and a half, while patients went in and out, 6 sales reps went in and out; plus I had my 2 year old with me. To then find out (after waiting 1.5 hours) I have to fill out 5 pages of paperwork for myself and my husband. Mind you, we both had full physical's 6 months ago this year and nothing had changed on our insurance etc. Then after filling out the paperwork, the receptionist tells me I did not complete it right, and if I don't the wait will be even longer. (Under insurance info-I wrote see card-the one she just xeroxed and put in our charts). Then the receptionist says "we don-t do it that way here". And proceeded to white out my writing. Mind you, we were there for JUST a blood draw. Nothing else. My recommendation to the physician's is hire a phlebotimist to draw blood. You can pay for one by getting rid of an obnoxious receptionist. I see on the following page there were complaints from that same day! Time to talk to your front desk staff about professionalism. Obviously, I am not alone in this very complaint!
Absolutely unprofessional staff at the front desk!
