User Rating: 3 out of 5 starsKathy, in the lobby at the counter, is wonderful! Too bad their outside boxes don't have better hours. If you need to get your mail out before 5pm go to Wauconda or Crystal Lake on Congress Parkway...
User Rating: 1 out of 5 starsjust checked my packages on usps website. says that deliver was attempted and that they would be forwarded. i was home all day there's nothing in my mailbox or on my doorstep, doorbell never rang. also, where would they be forwarded to? at least ups leaves a note on the door if they don't feel like delivering your packages that day!! f*ck this hick town and their lazy gov't workers.

I think they deliver the mail at their own convenience. I have confirmation that packages have arrived at the post office and I still do not get them for up to 3 days. I'm not talking about it arrives on Friday and I get it on Monday, I'm talking about it arrives on Monday and I get it on Thursday. They seem very lackadaisical and lethargic. You better be there before they close and not a minute late, I personally have had the door locked in my face. Thanks USPS of Island Lake, for the speedy service and all the compassion you have shown us here in Island Lake

I agree they are the worst in the area. I really try to avoid the post office in Island Lake at all costs. The postmaster Sam is the most unfriendly person I have met at any goverment agency, including the DMV!
