Hmmm...when i read reviews commenting about how bad the service was, it just doesn't sound like the same place i have frequented over the years.

Now, I WILL say that there are certainly flaws with Frank's, in my opinion. But the service? Man, that has always been one of their strengths, in my experiences.

    My opinion of this place:

Food - overall, really good. Authentic Buffalo wings (authentic, as in a good representation of the wings served in Buffalo, NY). Great chicken strips dipped in buffalo sauce.

    Service - again, good!

Price - Well, here is the bad news about this place, in my opinion. It IS expensive, like most chicken restaurants. It is NOT economical for anyone looking for a cheap lunch, nor for those of us with kids. A meal for a family of four will prob cost between $25 to $30, not cheap.

Atmosphere - unique, throw back to the days of my youth (the 80's). Nothing fancy here, it has been the same since it opened 25 years ago.

Overall, I'd give it a try but PLEASE have realistic expectations going in - it is an old, independent, mom and pop shop that serves their food to authentic BUFFALO, NY style recipes - NOT Chicago style.

    Happy eating!!!

Just moving out here from Buffalo, these are the Best chicken wings by Far in the area. Also to anyone that eats wings with ranch sac up and stop having them with it. You're un-American if you do. If you like Ranch dressing have a salad. Wings are made for blue cheese.
Also why would you go to a wing joint and get a hot dog. moron.

I've been going to Franks off and on for about 10 years now and think the negative reviews are a hoax by competitors. I've always been very satisfied with the service and the product. Franks has always been a staple of one of the great places to eat in Mundelein and for me and my friends and family will always be.If you want a number associated with your meal or microwaved meat then you can always find a place for that but at Franks there's no faking it. It's freshly cooked right there on their grill or fryers and it's always great.I always question those who go against the grain i.e. Ranch over Bleu Cheese but to each his own. And to my knowledge if you want to substitute your Bleu for ranch there's no problem in doing so. Go to Franks and and enjoy the expierence!!!!

Blown away about by a horrible experience, Worst food and customer service I've ever received and I'm in the business. I've been in FS industry for 17 yrs as a GM and was blown away by the lack of quality of the food and how angry the owner became when I asked why I couldn't just have a side of ranch to go with the wings that lacked flavor. There was a charge. I was already unhappy with the quality, so why would I pay to try to change it. He went on and on about how busy he was, and people would just throw his product (dressing) away. Being busy is a good thing if they're throwing your product away maybe its inferior!!!!! Next time ask how everything taste instead of telling me what your food cost is. I'm the consumer. I left my $21 meal on the table for a $1 side of dressing. After coming back to work my entire office said they do enjoy some items off the menu but have had like experiences in Franks with service. I'm happy to see a business survive for many years in the FS industry because I know how hard it is. My review is not to bash because if I don't like what your serving it's my preference and people don't like everything they eat. It's directed towards the establishment.. Don't for get why you've been around so many years. It's not by arguing and NOT giving the customer what they want. It's by making sure we leave happy and don't run back to our computer and friends to tell what just happened on our lunch break or on they way home. For What it's worth

I'm not sure where you were but the Franks that I frequent has never treated me that way. All the staff has always been courteous and accomodating and I have never had a bad meal there and I've been eating there since it opened 25 years ago. Every place charges for dressing (ranch or blue cheese) you just sometimes don't know you're paying for it!
