The pub is modeled after an establishment of the same name built in 1620 near Bunratty Castle in County Clare. It often features live entertainment, mostly acoustic, which patrons can listen to while snuggling up next to the roaring fireplace in the winter. User Rating: 2 out of 5 starsThis bar kinda blows! I'll give this place one thing, which is the idea of a resteraunt and music venue in Palatine. The problem is they don't know how to use it to their potential. This is not the old Nellies. No one wants to hear the same old shi. every week. There is no arguement anyone can provide here to counter my statement, if you do, please let me hear it. The service does kinda suck there but what do you expect from any bar late at night when it's crowded.
If you haven't been there give a shot, just if you plan to go back, expect the same exact thing.-

I love Durty Nellies! They always have fun bands to listen to on the weekends and the owner is incredibly friendly! Even though the bar is really big, the owner always goes out of his way to make you feel special.

They wanted to charge me a cover just to sit at the bar and drink--hahahahaha!What are they crazy?I got sucked in to that one because friends wanted to go.Weak drinks,lousy bartenders,we felt like we were "bothering them".We left after two drinks---Don"t bother..
