| About: | Shanahan's offers a broad range of cuisines, although it specializes in sandwiches and seafood. It is a dinner style restaurant oriented to family dining--and at the same time it caters to seniors. Yet the ambiance is festive and musical at the same time. It has a bar, which offers a wide selection of beers, and there is smoking. There is an open mike every second Monday of the month; poetry and prose are welcome. |

I've been coming to this restaurant for years. Everyone I've brought has loved it. If you love Cajun food, this is the place to go. The food is just great!
The establishment is a bar/restaurant. The restaurant is at the end of the bar. Nice and cozy, unpretentious with a bang(!)as food is concerned. My son just raves about it. Reasonable prices.
Try the jambalaya on pasta. They may not have it on the menu, but will definately make it for you if you ask. Love the spicy food! Great prices. They also serve steak.
A favorite.
It is like an oldtime Chicago tavern and restaurant. Our food was excellent. We went for the Cajun meals, all of which were good. The table next to us ate hamburgers and ribs. They looked good too and the people said they tasted great. Our waitress was upbeat, knowledgable, and worked hard. The pictures on the walls contained a lot of interesting local history and sports memorabilia. Food portions were ample. The tab was reasonable for what we got. Comfortable atmosphere. Nice experience.
Don't go!: The gumbo tasted flavorless. This place is not a good replica of cajun food.
