This is old-fashioned Thai cooking and we love it. It is family run and very reliable and consistent. The curries are very good here, especially the panang curry. Pad woon sen and pad thai are also very good. Spring rolls make a nice appetizer, and can be made vegetarian. My boyfriend likes the fish cakes, curried fried rice and any of the noodle dishes with tofu. The kitchen is flexible and accomodating of special requests. The service is efficient. There is one person who looks unfriendly but is actually very nice and is one of our favorites now. The place itself is lackluster and is located in a basement, so it's not the prettiest restaurant, but the food more than makes up for it. I have had the Chinese food here, too, and it is good, but I haven't tried it in a long time because I like the Thai food so much. They have a few wines by the glass that go well with Thai food. The restaurant does a good carry-out business and the owners know their regular customers. In fact, when I call an order in, they usually know who I am. I would rate it higher except for the decor.
This is where I learned to appreciate Thai food. Still the best there is in the area. Best basil fried rice, nam sod, and cold spring rolls. Excellent red curry. They've been around forever, which says it all.
