Oh, man. The absolute greatest. It ruined me for all other burrito joints. Of course the music is god awful, but it's a small indignity to suffer for the absolute rapture that is a burrito from El Faro. Dang.
Ever since I moved back to IL from Ohio, I've been looking for a good chimichanga. They're hard to find, as it's not exactly the most common of Mexican foods, but finally! Finally, I found one that doesn't taste like butt. It's at El Faro's. It's delicious. They have just the right amount of spices in their food; their rice and beans are AMAZING and the service is relatively quick, considering how busy they usually are. The only bad thing is their prices aren't exactly lunch-friendly if you're looking for a whole meal, but it's still less than 10$ per person.
However, they don't use gloves in the kitchen, so if you're paranoid about food safety, don't go here.
Read sveral reviews and concluded people in Elgin have terrible palates. The food is just plain lousy. Tried a few times thinking the problem might be the cook, just to be fair. The city of Elgin should annex the whole block, move the bus depot and build a railroad depot like the one in Aurora.
